Since 1 June 2019, Santam’s existing Professional Indemnity clients that qualify for Evo Pro are automatically migrated onto the new policy wording as they come up for renewal.

Following migration, brokers manage and maintain their portfolios on the Pocket Underwriter system.

All existing SME PI policyholders will start moving automatically onto the new Evo Pro policy form as from 1 June 2019, as each policy comes up for renewal. Unfortunately, the old coverage is no longer available to SME professionals. The change was implemented to improve efficiency and consistency in the products and services we provide to all our clients.

We acknowledge that it is concerning for brokers when there is a changeover to a new wording, which is why we emphasise that if the insured has a claim that is not covered, or is adversely impacted by the new wording, which would have been covered by the expired wording, we will honour the claim.

The policy wording and structure are designed to give brokers more control over renewals and new business, while ensuring SME clients receive comprehensive cover at affordable prices.
